Founded in 2003, Gotham is New York City’s only roller derby league. We provide community, coaching and competition for cisgender, transgender and intersex women and gender non-conforming participants.

The league is member-operated - skaters, officials, and others volunteer their time to keep Gotham running.

As real estate prices have escalated, it has become more and more difficult for the league to afford practice space. Our current spaces are more expensive to rent for a few hours a week than renting an entire building was just a few years ago.

Your tax-deductible donations help offset expenses while we continue to seek out affordable practice space.

Gotham Roller Derby fosters personal, mental and physical strength through collaboration, inclusiveness and community-building while representing New York City in athletic excellence. As a 501(c)3, not-for-profit corporation, all donations are fully tax-deductible where permitted by law.

On September 19, 2008, the IRS ruled that Gotham Roller Derby NFP, Ltd. is a public charity, exempt from Federal income tax under section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code.

The IRS also ruled that contributions to the league are deductible under section 170 of the Internal Revenue Code. The league is also qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers or gifts under section 2055, 2106, or 2522 of the Code.
