2026 Summer Camp

Join Gotham Junior Derby coaches at the LeFrak Center at Lakeside in Prospect Park for a 5-day outdoor skate camp!

This program welcomes girls (cisgender, transgender and intersex) and gender non-conforming participants from ages 7-17 of all skill levels. Skaters will be divided into smaller groups based on experience.

Each day will include on and off-skates sessions that focus on developing skating and roller derby game skills. Midday breaks include crafts, games, and other fun activities.

Note: New skaters must be comfortable moving around the track without holding on to walls or other people.

Required Gear: Quad roller skates, helmet, mouthguard, elbow pads, wrist guards, knee pads, sneakers. A skate and gear package like this one is a great option, and the Roller Derby Recyclables group on Facebook is a good resource for used gear. For skate sizing, you typically want to size down around 2 sizes from your sneaker size, but we recommend trying skates on when possible or reaching out to a skate shop (like Bruised Boutique) to ask. We are unfortunately not in a position to offer loaner gear at this time, but if you reach out to jrderby@ggrd.nyc, we might be able to connect you with others who can.

Agreement to follow all safety protocols is required to attend.
